We will be showing a riveting documentary called “The Interrupters.” This film chronicles members of the activist group CeaseFire working to curb violence in their Chicago neighborhoods through youth intervention and showing youth a better way to resolve conflicts. We will take a look at the issues raised in this film and identify steps we can take to affect peace and positive change in our own neighborhood. Discussion to follow immediately after. Richard Garland, Visiting Instructor and Leader of the Violence Prevention Project at the University of Pittsburgh will be a special guest. Don’t miss this important event!
