Fair Trade Movement

Thursday, December 11, 2014 - 3:00pm to 5:00pm
Ujamaa Collective 1901 Centre Ave. Suite #100 Pittsburgh, PA 15219

Please join us for a listening circle

This is a Building Equity in the Arts event, part of a professional development series for the Pittsburgh Coalition for Racial Equity in the Arts, sponsored by Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council.

Learn about a local non-profit artisan boutique with a social mission! Members of Ujamaa Collective, including Executive Director LaKeisha Wolf, will describe their work supporting women of the African diaspora and their cooperative business structure. They will also explore how issues of fair trade and racial equity play out both locally and globally.

After the presentation, attendees are invited to share their own responses to these topics in the safe and respectful environment of a Listening Circle. This discussion format encourages thoughtful and non-confrontational efforts to listen deeply to others as we strive to articulate our own feelings around often difficult subjects. Light refreshments will be provided.
