Ricky Moody has a long and layered history working in community behavioral healthcare in the City of Pittsburgh as both a leader and direct practitioner. He has advocated for funding, legislation and best practices that will help impact the clinical care that residents of the City receive. His populations of specialty included those re-entering from criminal justice systems needing substance abuse treatment in underserved communities. He is endorsed by the Pennsylvania Certification Board to work with criminal justice populations.

Ricky has a long passion of community organizing and civic involvement starting with his work with Sankofa Community Empowerment, and as a citizen in the West End section in the City of Pittsburgh. He served a chair of his neighborhood association group in East Carnegie and also participated in the Mayor's Civic Leadership Academy in 2011. He was appointed to and served on the city's Propel Pittsburgh Commission to advise the mayor on policy that would impact the quality of life for young professionals and youth in the city. He was awarded the 2012 African American Leadership Association's "Blazing Emerging Leader Award", and a City Council Proclamation that year, both for his advocacy and community work in the West End. Ricky has been engaged with many organizations in different capacities which is fueled by his passion for civic engagement.

Ricky was the recipient of Vision Towards Peace's "Roadrunner Award" for his work in behavioral health in the community. He also received 2017's Pittsburgh Courier's "Men of Excellence" award. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Point Park University in Pittsburgh PA.
