Addy Cullen, on behalf of the development team, submitted the project to the Development Review Panel. The project will be reviewed by the Committee internally at their next meeting.
Serving as the fourth housing development of the Hill District Choice Neighborhood Implementation Grant and the third joint venture between TREK and HACP, Bedford Dwellings Phase III: Somers Drive calls for the construction of sixty-five (65) units in a mix of walk up, townhome, and stacked townhome units.
Phase III will be the first “on-site” development and will feature the demolition of the existing structures on the site. The site plan will consist of two walk-up apartment buildings with 1- and 2-bedroom units. 3-bedroom townhomes will line Bedford Avenue, reflecting the neighborhood context across the street and 2- and 3-bedroom stacked townhomes will line Somers drive.
Of the 65 units, 33 will be affordable LIHTC/replacement units for families earning 20%-60% AMI, 10 will be additional affordable LIHTC units for families at 60% AMI, and 22 will be market rate.
