June 2024
Talia Hungria, on behalf of the new developers for the site, submitted on June 19th the Lower Hill Block E1 Parcel project to the Hill CDC to begin the Development Review Panel Process. The project will be reviewed internally by the DRP Committee at its July meeting, with an expected formal presentation to occur in August.
Live Nation has proposed a 95,000-square-foot live music venue in the Lower Hill District at Logan Street and Wylie Avenue. Capacity is expected to be set at 4,500 persons. You can view their briefing to the URA Board of Directors HERE.
It is important to note that this project has now been split into two developments: A concert venue and parking garage will now be designed and constructed separately. You can learn about the background of this project and its initial DRP submission HERE. The development team also created a unique website for this project: www.parcelemusicvenue.com
August 2024
At the August meeting of the DRP Committee Live Nation presented their Lower Hill concert venue project and answered intial questions that the Committee Members had. Following the presentation, the Committee Members scored the project at 75% – C.
Feedback focused on increasing representation of the Hill District’s cultural legacy throughout the development, prioritizing hiring locally from the neighborhood, and the project’s parking plan due to the delay in the parking garage’s development.
The Development Team met with Hill CDC staff to discuss the feedback and requested a second presentation to be held with the DRP Committee Members in the Fall.
