The project team presented on date to the Hill District community. After tallying both virtual and in person residents who attended the meeting ,the community score was 93% – A. This made the final score 90% – A which represents a passing score for the DRP process. The development has been determined to be sufficiently aligned with the Master Plan.
February 2024
Lakeisha Byrd submitted an application on behalf Communion LLC to the DRP. Herron & Wylie consists of the redevelopment of the existing structure and adjacent parcel located at the intersection of Herron Avenue and Wylie Avenue. The redevelopment includes the rehabilitation of an existing 3-story building and the construction of a 4-story building with roughly 2,100 square feet of ground floor studio office space with (8) one- and two-bedroom apartments above. 50% of the units will be affordable at 60-80% AMI, and the remaining will be market rate.
March 2024
Project was reviewed at internal meeting of DRP Panelists and invited to present next month.
April 2024
Following their presentation the DRP scored the project at 86% – B. This means the project is ready for a community scoring by residents.
September 2024
Communion LLC attended the Hill District Community meeting on September 5th and presented their Herron + Wylie project. Residents who attended the meeting or participated online scored the project a 93% – A.
This made the cumulative score a 90% – A. The project has successfully completed the DRP project and is in sufficient alignment with the Greater Hill District Master Plan.
